Growing Scholars takes a comprehensive approach to academic subject tutoring. We provide our students with subject-specific instruction according to their diagnostic assessment. The family and staff at Growing Scholars jointly develop a customized learning plan to meet the individual student’s needs. Once the customized learning plan is finalized, intensive instruction is provided for three hours per week to help the child reach his or her maximum learning potential. We also implement an incentive program titled “Scholar Dollars” to build the student’s confidence and develop responsibility. This is an incentive program that motivates the child to remain positive and focused at the learning center as they work toward their academic goals.
Growing Scholars is committed to family. We work diligently with each family to ensure success for every child by accompanying parents to Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P.) meetings, parent teacher conferences, and/or any other avenue that the child and family will need support to help the student academically.
Instructional tutoring at Growing Scholars is instructed individually while maintaining a student to instructor ratio of 3 to 1. This gives the student the individualized attention he or she will need, while developing their confidence and allowing them to work independently.
Each enrolled student’s progress is reviewed after each tutoring session. An evaluation is given after every five lessons and a test preparation assessment is given at the tenth lesson to ensure that the needs and pacing of the child are being met. When a student reaches forty lessons a diagnostic assessment will be given to chart his or her growth and we wil re-evaluate the student’s customized learning plan.
